KAHC Western region chairman for William Orondo has dismissed the claims saying that by last Sunday, all the major hotels in Kisumu County were full booked.

"We regret the misinterpretation that we have not welcomed the devolution conference. Beginning Sunday, all the hotels were fully booked," said Orondo.

He added: "This conference is a plus for hoteliers, since neighbouring counties will also benefit. We have worked closely with the Council of Governors in the preparation."

Orondo said that two thirds of the budget for Governor's Conference will be spent in Kisumu County exclusively.

Speaking at Royal City Gardens Hotel, Orondo said that the hoteliers will provide bed, breakfast and dinner for the expected delegates.

This is the first time Kisumu County will host the Governor's Conference which President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to open it.
