Residents of Makina area spent the whole of Wednesday night in the cold as residential houses were razed down by fire.

The residents said that the fire started as a result of electricity connections.

"The fire that started at around 10pm razed down several residential houses leaving us to spend the whole night in the cold. The fire started as a result of poor electricity connections, "said Jacqueline Otindo. 

Property worth thousands was lost in the incident. 

Kibera in the past few days has experienced quite a number of fire incidences which have been associated with poor electricity connections as residents opt to connect electricity manually using naked wires.
