A new report by Kenya National Bureau of Statistic indicates that Nakuru town is short of housing units.
According to the report, the town has a short of approximately 10,000 housing units required to meet current demands.
The housing shortfall affects both residential and business housing within the town and it's surroundings despite efforts to address the shortage.
However,2,000 units are available, dropping the shortfall of 8,000 units.
The county government of Nakuru told in a report seen by the Nation maintains that building properties is not its work, it only strives to create a favourable environment for investors to build.
“We have built the capacity of all our sub-county offices to ensure approval for development is done within 30 days,” reads the county report.
Experts attribute the housing demands to growth in population in the town.
