According to Dr E.K. Melly, the widow has been diagnosed with Chronic Stage (IIIB) of cervical cancer and is in dire need of urgent medical treatment.

Mrs Njoroge was first admitted at St Mary’s Hospital in Gilgil after experiences excruciating pain in the stomach and breathing difficulties before being put on malarial treatment.

When her condition worsened she was referred to Alexandria Cancer Center and Palliative Care Hospital in Nakuru where her condition was diagnosed.

She has been relying on well-wishers and friends for her medical bills.

 She says she has no sustainable income to fund her medical care and this has resulted in her dropping out from the palliative care facility.

Njoroge used to rely on her small scale vegetable vending business to sustain her livelihood but her condition has since drained the business.

Dr Nelly explained that Njoroge is scheduled to undergo rounds of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy at a cost of Sh400,000 Iin Eldoret.

The widow explained that her family has already exhausted its entire savings on her treatment and that all her six daughters are casual laborers.
