Challenge Aid is one such organization which has embarked on projects aimed at guiding and educating the young for a brighter future.

The charity organizes sponsored challenge events for schools, corporates and individuals to take young people out of poverty through education.

The organization set out their first life skills session which was held on Tuesday at one of their recently established Schools of Hope in Kiandutu Thika.

67 learners attended with the discussion centered on self-discipline, setting own goals and having a winning mind-set.

"You cannot achieve anything if you are not self-disciplined and have no set goals in life. Your background should not define but should strengthen you to develop a winning spirit," said one of the organizers.

The children promised to work hard and transform Kiandutu from a slum to a modern estate.
