Comedian Thomas Omurunga Oyoro alias Profesa Eshuya did not start a successful man.
When coming to the city in 2001, Profesa Eshuya had to steal and sell his mother's goat to raise the money to Nairobi.
He says he had to wait for the mother to go to the market before he committed his scandal at their Khwisero home in Kakamega county.
“My mum was at the market and I sold her goat at a very cheap price since I was determined to travel to Nairobi to hustle for a job. I fled from home before she returned,” he said.
And when he came to the city, he guessed that he could just walk around and bump in one of his cousins to accommodate him. That was a blunder.
“I had three cousins who lived in Nairobi. I never knew specifically where they stayed. So there I was at 7.30am, stranded at Huruma, Magorofani hoping, to bump into one of them. I didn’t. I however met someone from my village who hosted me for that night and early in the following morning, took me to a construction site for a mjengo work,” he says.
He says he has gone through a lot in Nairobi including being conned money by fake 'music studios'.
He says he served the guy carrying costumes for the cast at KBC's Mr President show but his journey began when the 'President's' bodyguard missed to come and he (Eshuya) was asked to act on his behalf.
He would later audition for Vitimbi where he passed and joined the show.
“That was a dream-come-true. I got there at 6am, three hours earlier and waited for the crew,” he said.
