Deputy President William Ruto has become the first beneficiary of the new love between President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga.
The magic handshake paid when Ruto toured the Coast region on Friday.
Though the region is considered an opposition backyard, Ruto was received by up to 20 MPs from Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party.
Ruto was at the coast to launch the Sh1 billion road in Jomvu.
“Political divisions and fight for power is behind us. We should now work to ensure food security and better health for our people,” Ruto said.
The opposition MPs present hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga for the truce.
