President Uhuru Kenyatta has heaped praise on his deputy William Ruto and termed him as the pillar behind Jubilee administration unity in the last four years at the helm of Kenya's government.

Uhuru singled out Ruto's non-confrontational approach to controversial issues as key to the smooth running in government affairs.

The Head of State took a swipe on ODM leader Raila Odinga when he compared the peaceful workmanship he has experienced with DP Ruto compared to the grand coalition government under the former Prime Minister and President Mwai Kibaki which he said was mired with squabbles.

"I would like to thank the Deputy President because he has ensured we work in unity, a move that has ensured we work for Kenyans without squabbles and drawbacks," he said.

Uhuru also stated that his camaraderie with Ruto has also helped the Jubilee government achieve unbelievably high progress in development.

"For instance, the opposition have been wondering how we have been able to construct more than 7000 kilometers of roads among other projects in the short span of four years. Our answer to them is the unity and close cooperation between me and Ruto," he said.
