Police sources said they were tipped after a fallout among a chain of drugs cartel that is involved in peddling the illegal substance.

Security agents at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) said the drugs were weighing 23 kilograms and had been packed as tea leaves.

Sources said there is a web of beneciaries of drug trade at the airport who usually are involved in sending drugs as cargo disguised as tea leaves, sugar, among other legal substances.

Head of police’s anti-narcotics unit Hamis Massa said they are investigating to nail all those involved.

Impeccable sources said the bust was after a fall out among the syndicate who were poised to traffic the cache on Monday night before one of them failed to load the narcotics on the intended flight.
