The Senator has since declared that he will be in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta who his nearing his retirement.

Speaking on KBC English Service on Wednesday, Weda, however, said that the Senator will have to undergo a series of transformations to achieve the bid.

He advised him to begin by winning the support of the vote-rich Rift Valley region.

Deputy President William Ruto who has also declared interest in the seat remains the biggest threat to Moi's presidential dream, as he enjoys a massive following in the Rift Valley region.

''Gideon must take control of the Rift Valley region before going ahead to seek the nation's leadership. This will, however, be hard as Ruto appears to be closer to the people as compared to him. He has to come down to the people,'' advised Weda.

The commentator also termed the ongoing supremacy battle between the two as an advantage to Gideon, noting that the Senator has gained political mileage out of it.

''At times you can only gain political relevance by going for fellow politicians and superior ones for better results. Gideon's ongoing battle with Ruto has seen him gain relevance which if well used could bring him closer to the seat come 2022,'' he added.
