The county government of Murang’a has announced that there will be an extension of a free medical camp in honor of veteran politician Kenneth Matiba.
Matiba died on April 15.
Area residents benefited from a free eye and dental clinic check-ups at the Kenneth Matiba Hospital located in Kenol town.
Governor Mwangi Wa Iria announced the start of the free medical camp soon after Matiba died.
He assured the residents that a piece of public land had been identified and an ultra-modern wing of the hospital would soon be constructed.
Matiba's memorial service was held at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on Wednesday and was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, former President Mwai Kibaki,DP William Ruto, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
