Siaya County Assembly Speaker George Okode has announced that he will employ every possible mechanism to ensure that no election takes place in the County during the upcoming presidential repeat polls.
Okode intimated that he will be leading all Members of County Assembly in blocking the electoral process should IEBC push through with its plan.
“The law is very clear that elections must be conducted in each of the 290 constituencies. And since NASA has withdrawn from the race yet IEBC is still insisting it will go ahead with the elections, we want to show them they will not be allowed to continue with their illegalities in our county,” he remarked.
Earlier, IEBC had expressed concern abouti the security of its staff who are expected to conduct the polls on October 26.
It has also been reported that a substantial number of Returning Officers and Presiding Officers are unwilling to oversee the process.
