[Photo|@EstherPassaris]Thursday's swearing-in ceremony at the National Assembly was faced by several intrigues by the 12th parliament legislators, sending others to laughter.Even though the event went on smoothly, under Clerk Michael Sialai's leadership, some MPs could not hide to add what they thought was right, to the constitutional swearing-in oath (statement).Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino - he added "Raila Odinga”Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo - he added “a servant of the people of Kiambu”Cherengany MP Joshua Kuttuny - he added “na watu wa Cherengany (and the people of Cherangany)"Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi - he added "na watu wa Changamwe"“Kindly, honourable members, let us take the oath in the right way. If you do not take it in the prescribed form, then it will not be considered an oath,” Sialai told the MPs, after he stopped several of them, from adding intrigues to the statement.On his part, former Minority Leader Kitui West MP, Francis Nyenze caused a stir when he walked in the House with an oxygen tank, saying he suffered pneumonia a week prior to elections.Several MPs such as Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, were accompanied by their parents to parliament. Some were accompanied by wives, husbands and children.
