Deputy President William Ruto has revealed how Jubilee Party is planing to ensure the nomination process is fair and peaceful.
According to Ruto, the yet to be launched JP is in the process of having the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) conduct the party's nomination countrywide.
The DP while speaking in Gilgil on Friday stated that, contracting IEBC for the nomination process will eliminate cases of conflict among aspirants who might cry foul.
Ruto also added that the party's leadership will not endorse any particular aspirant as the nominations will be the only way to get the preferred candidate.
However, a section of JP members have already differed over the alleged endorsement of Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa to vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
A faction led by Kabete lawmaker Ferdinand Waititu has endorsed Wamalwa promising to fully back him while MPs Maina Kamanda (Starehe) and Benson Mutura (Makadara) are against the idea calling for nomination in choosing JP's Nairobi governor flag bearer.
The endorsement was interpreted by some leaders as just a tip of the iceberg with others claiming that the CS is being imposed on them something that has lead to divisions among Jubilee members.
Nairobi senator Mike Sonko who is a serious contender for the top capital seat has already stated that if the nominations are not fair, he will seek another vessel and attempt to unseat current governor Evans KIdero.
