ODM party leader Raila Odinga has accused the Jubilee government of running down the economy by condoning scandals such as the Eurobond and lately the NYS scam.
Speaking in Hola and Garsen on Saturday in Tana River county, Raila said the Treasury had no money to finance mega projects promised to Kenyans by the Jubilee administration.
He added that they (Jubilee leaders) went overseas to borrow money which ended up in individual pockets.
“There is no money in the Treasury to finance huge projects the Jubilee government pledged to Kenyans. Where is the 10,000 kilometres road network, jobs for youth and women, modern stadia and laptops?” he questioned.
He went ahead to caution Kenyans not to be enticed with money to vote in favour of the current government.
“They will come around and entice you with the stolen money. I tell you to take that money but do not thank them because that is your money and you will pay the huge debts,” warned Mr Odinga.
Raila urged the residents to vote in the Cord coalition saying the Jubilee government is not only corrupt but also unwilling to ensure that devolution works.
He added that devolution can only work if the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration is kicked out of power.
Raila was spoke as he ended his four day visit to the Coast region.
Tana River Governor Hussein Dado, his Deputy, Jire Siyat and other ODM leaders in the region however, assured the opposition chief support come 2017.
