From recent happenings in one of NASA's perceived strongholds in Makueni county a crisis is looming that may give Jubilee Party a winning advantage in the area.
The infighting among NASA candidates is Makueni is a ticking time bomb for the opposition, according to county Governor Kivutha Kibwana, NASA candidates in Kibwezi East and Makueni are competing against each other in the end giving Jubilee rivals political mileage.
"I am worried because Jubilee candidates in [the areas] pose a big threat to Wiper MPs Jessica Mbalu (Kibwezi East) and Daniel Maanzo," said Kibwana.
"This is because of infighting between Wiper aspirants and others in NASA affiliate parties," he added.
Kibwana warned hopefuls in the Opposition coalition that their "friendly fire" could result in an easy time for their opponents.
"It is my appeal for NASA candidates in Makueni and Kibwezi East to sit and agree on how to face our opponents as a team," he said.
Complains have also been raised by Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo who said he has no time to campaign for Raila Odinga because of the stiff competition he faces from other NASA politicians to defend his seat.
"I accompanied my party leader during his campaigns just once. I spend a lot of my time and energy in my constituency because there is a lot I have to do to defend my seat," he said.
