The reality of political immaturity in our nation was stamped by the shameful primaries that were carried out by major parties.
This exercise was supposed to be an avenue that rewards people’s choice but turned into a selection process based on one’s economic say in the party and loyalty to the party leader. ODM and Jubilee are the hungry hyenas that are feasting on their loyal children.
The two political heavyweights are manned by siblings of a corrupt generation. A generation that made Kenya a country many regret being born in. A nation that denies the youths employment, starves citizens, kills its people via avoidable security lapses, degrades women, alienates the aged and the youths, offers substandard education and is full of political deceit among other evils. What went wrong with the parties that brag to be champions of democracy?
There are candidates that were denied their rightful win due to questionable loyalty and economic philanthropy. John Mbadi and William Kabogo have been axed from the parties they have toiled to establish.
Peter Kenneth and Paul Otwoma are other victims of misplaced priorities. They disputed the results but have been forced to come to terms with the reality that governs the skewed political structures in our lovely country.
