Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega is now accusing the opposition leader Raila Odinga of planning to cause havoc in the much anticipated August 8 general elections.
Kega said Raila's plans to set up a parallel tallying centre apart from IEBC, was a scheme to declare himself a winner in the presidential race, an act which would plunge the country into violence.
“Raila has rejected election results of his two previous election losses in 2007 and 2013. Now he plans to become the President by hook and crook,” Kega said on Monday during the commissioning of a water project in his constituency.
The legislator said Jubilee will thwart the NASA's plot by having President Uhuru Kenyatta re-elected with a big margin and leave the former Prime Minister with nothing to hold on.
“He will not destroy the country’s peace like it happened in the 2007 polls. We are ready to defend the government and win by 70 per cent,” Kega said.
While responding to NASA's insistence on having a parallel tallying centre, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said it is the electoral body which is allowed to count, tally, collate, announce and declare election results.
