Supporters chanting Jubilee support slogans at Kapsabet showground, June 4, 2017. [Photo: Courtesy]The National Super Alliance (Nasa) took campaigns to Nandi county, a day after its presidential campaign launch in Kakamega county.Led by the five principals, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Isaac Ruto, the Pentagon held its rally at the Kapsabet showground, where hundreds of locals attended. However, all did go well when Ruto stood to address the attendants.Jubilee supporters booed the Bomet governor and CCM party leader, chanting pro-Jubilee slogans, preventing him from being heard. This could be linked to the differences which Ruto and deputy president William Ruto share, in relation to Rift Valley politics. The two were good political friends but parted ways after DP merged his party to form Jubilee Party with president Uhuru Kenyatta.Nandi is perceived to be a Jubilee stronghold, and the speech by Ruto, attacking Jubilee, could have angered them. However their noise did not stop Ruto from continuing with his speech.
