Ford Kenya Deputy party leader Boni Khalwale arrived in Kisumu on Tuesday to a rousing welcome from residents, days after differing with Opposition Chief Raila Odinga on pertinent issues within the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.
Khalwale who has been criticizing Raila over his move to unite with President Uhuru Kenyatta in pushing for Kenyans' unity, after a long and divisive electioneering period, said his political differences with key politicians in the country will not deter him from visiting specific parts of the Kenya.
He said he has built a strong bond with many Kenyans, and will ride on that to preach peace and unity across the country.
"In jovial Labour Day mood with fans in Kisumu. Selfish political interests will not break the bonds that I have established in many parts of Kenya," Khalwale tweeted.
The former Kakamega Senator lauded residents of Kisumu for their agreement to embrace peace, and forgiveness at a time when the country's economy suffered huge losses as a result of extended politicking.
Khalwale is among opposition leaders who are against the amendment of the Constitution to create a third tier of government.
