The Board of Management of Kenyatta National Hospital has appointed an audit firm to carry out a systems audit into the events that led to what it terms “the unintended surgical intervention.”
As crisis escalates at the institution, Nurses are planning a demonstration, to press for action from the hospital management.
The nurses who are gathering at the administration block, claim the board of management has failed to consider their grievances.
The demonstrations come against the backdrop of the sacking of CEO Lily Koros and other staff, following the mix up in the brain surgery.
In a statement to our newsroom, the hospital’s Board of Management said it takes any allegations of negligence very seriously and mandated the firm to give an independent and authoritative position on the matter and together with a comprehensive report.
