Speaking on Monday in his office when he hosted a team from KISIP who had paid him a courtesy call, Maritim said the County Government is working on reducing slums in its capital Eldoret town.

“The partnership between KISIP and us is to see that our estates are clean,” said Eng. Maritim.

“We are calling on the landowners within the town to stop selling and subdividing their parcels of land resulting to slums,” he added.

The County Executive further reiterated that locals believe and trust the devolved units when it comes to matters of land and challenged KISIP to avail copies of documents for the areas already to ease in clarifications that are frequently sought by the members of the public.

KISIP representatives lauded the Governor Jackson Mandago-led administration's partnership and pledged to work closely for the project's success.

“We will hold public participation in areas that need the same projects, consult the public, do an evaluation and collect information on social economic needs,' said one of the KISIP officials.
