President has hit out at Chief Justice David Maraga after he said that the Supreme Court will nullify the presidential election if the law is breached in the repeat presidential election.

On Wednesday, CJ Maraga said the Supreme Court will still annul the presidential election if due process is not followed by IEBC.

Speaking on Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that he was surprised by Maraga’s sentiments.

“I have heard things that I never thought I would in a democratic nation. I was surprised to hear that when Kenyans go to the ballot again, you (CJ Maraga) will still nullify the election if you want, and everything that Kenyans rejected when they voted for a new Constitution is back because some people have now given themselves the power to go against the will of the people,” he said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was speaking on Thursday while reacting to the Supreme Court ruling in a televised address.
