A family in Naivasha is the talk of town after it emerged that it is among those who stole public money through dubious deals with the National Youth Service.
Naivasha residents narrated to this writer how members of the family became overnight millionaires leaving everyone dumbfounded.
According to sleuths who have zeroed in on the government entity after it was revealed that thieves had a field day siphoning money from public coffers, the Naivasha family is one of those who milked the entity without mercy.
The main suspects in the family include the mother, her daughter and son all who received millions from NYS for supplying 'nothing'.
Those who talked to this writer said the family led a normal lifestyle but all of a sudden started rolling with fuel guzzlers.
"We woke up one day and found them millionaires. It was like a Nigerian movie, they bought a new home and big cars. We believed they were in genuine business deals, kumbe ni kuiba pesa yetu (we didn't know they were stealing tax payers money)," a resident told this writer.
Among properties bought by the family is a prime plot in Naivasha town that is said to have costed millions of shillings.
Already, detectives have summoned the beneficiaries to shed more light on their deals with NYS.
