Moi University managed to beat the likes of Egerton, Maasai Mara, and Baraton universities to produce the best producer ( Prof. Laban Ayiro), director (Morice Ong'ang'a), actor ( Morgan Mwamuye) and actress ( Angela Kitheka) among many others.

Even the dance that topped was written and choreographed by Moi University students; Morgan Mwamuye and Zakayo Kisungu.

But how comes Moi University did not equally shine at the national level?

"We were determined to win but we had a lot of challenges facing us," Morgan Mwamuye who had won the award for the best actor at the regional level said.

It is such challenges as to the late release of finances by the school that led to Moi University's late arrival at the competition.

Unfortunately, this was the beginning of their journey 'in hell' as one of the adjudicators was heard saying that those universities that had arrived late will not be ranked among the top.

"When we arrived we were informed that those universities which had arrived late will not be among the galas," Morgan said.

Just like that, Moi University lost a spot at the top with Kenyatta University deservedly carrying the day.
