I had not gone to church for almost one year after losing my job and divorcing with my husband Tony.
One Sunday morning, I woke up and felt that I needed God than anything else. I asked my neighbor Clare if she was going to church so that I could accompany her.
When we arrived at the church, I felt the presence of the Lord and for a strange reason, I kept looking at the man of God and wishing that he was not married.
I was shocked when he actually called me after the service and asked me to see him before leaving. When we met, I narrated to him my story and he read for me Isaiah 41:10 (So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand).
That word really restored hope in me. On Monday morning, he called me and asked to come to my place. Although I wanted to rush somewhere, I felt it was good to meet a man of God.
At 3.00pm the servant of God walked into my house with his New International version Bible. I welcomed him with a cup of coffee after which we had a deep conversation.
The man of God read several scriptures from the Bible and he encouraged me to seek the Lord. He was about to leave at 7.00pm but the rain pounded heavily.. so we sat silently looking at each other in the dark and he told me, “Sister Jacinta, you are fearfully and wonderfully made.”
I had nothing to say but thank him. He slowly moved closer to me and started rubbing my shoulders. The last thing I remember was finding my clothes scattered all over the floor the next morning. Today he requested to my house again and have yet another 'deep conversation.'
