Nakuru tops brands such as retailer Nakumatt Nakuru and Top Fry and Menengai Oil Refineries joined the rest of the world in commemorating World Water Day in pomp and colour.
The annual event which is marked every March 22, was exemplified in a symbolic theme; Water and Jobs.
Nakuru's Top Fry Kenya and Menegai Oil Refineries advocated for sustainability.
“If we are to build together a sustainable future, we must ensure that working water is decent, and that the water we all rely on is safe,” noted a statement posted by Menegai Oil Refineries.
"World Water Day is a great opportunity for us all to come together and make the call for better water and better jobs. Menengai makes this call today," concluded the post.
“The livelihood of many workers depends on water. The fact is that water is work. It requires workers for its clean and safe delivery and at the same time it can create and improve conditions of work. Let us celebrate World Water Day today with the aim of implementing changes!” stated Top Fry Kenya in its official Facebook page.
On the other hand, chain supermarket, Nakumatt Nakuru branch carried out a a road show promising amazing deals exclusively at its store with the trip making its way through the Nakuru central business district, attracting locals which set the afternoon ambiance into entertainment mode.
The event aimed at promoting the Nakumatt brand which saw lucky residents walked away with amazing give-aways.
