As at last week, the Nakuru county assembly had unanimously agreed that it was going to impeach the county finance boss Joseph Kiuna and even collected enough signatures to enable them executive their plan
But come Monday this week things changed and the motion which was to be tabled in the house on Tuesday was withdrawn
According to reliable sources who, declined to be named, MCA’s agreed to drop the impeachment motion after Governor Lee Kinyanjui oiled their pockets
On Monday morning the MCA’s were invited for a kamukunji with the governor but they declined the invite and went ahead to have another kamukunji with the Speaker.
It is after the meeting that the Speaker Joel Kairu convinced the MCA’s to meet the governor and that is where the deal was struck.
“A section of the MCA’s went and met the governor secretly and they were given money to drop the motion,” said an MCA.
The source further revealed that the MCA’s who went to meet the governor were offered Sh50,000 each and prevailed upon to drop the motion
However, another group of MCA’s declined the governor’s offer and vowed to proceed with the impeachment of the finance boss Joseph Kiuna.
