[Photo|readwrite.com]US President Donald Trump's administration has opposed Electoral Laws Amendments being sponsored by the ruling Jubilee Party, in Parliament.Through its State Department and Ambassador Bob Godec, US says the amendments are ill-timed.The government however said it remains neutral and supports IEBC's efforts in ensuring a credible fresh presidential election on October 26.Reports indicate NASA's Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o, during his tour of US, he had meetings with the US State Department officials and influential US academics, where he pushed the NASA agenda opposing the amendments. He is said to have convinced them over dangers of the amendments, and the importance of NASA opposing them.“Changing electoral laws without broad agreement just prior to a poll is not consistent with international best practice, increases political tension, and undermines public perceptions of the integrity of the electoral process,” said the US in a statement.Nyong'o was in US courtesy of International Leadership Institute (ILO) based in Minneapolis Minnesota, where he also met NASA supporters, last week.
