The formation of the National Super Alliance (NASA) might be good news to Kenyans who are fed up with the Jubilee administration, but not to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

If you know about President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s pact, then you will understand why Joho has enough reason to worry about the formation of the alliance, if at all he is still interested in the Presidency.

Politics in Kenya is all about “scratch my back and I will scratch yours”.

There is a huge possibility that ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi or Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka will only support Raila Odinga on condition that he agrees to back their bid in 2022.

If this happens, then Joho will be forced to shelf his presidential ambitions.

Before the entry of Mudavadi into Cord’s political equation, Joho, Kalonzo and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula were considered Raila’s potential successors.

As Joho fights to make Raila Kenya’s next president, things will be tough if an agreement such as the one drafted between UhuRuto is enforced.

The entry of Mudavadi should make Joho recalculate his political moves.
