Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu has predicted the collapse of Raila Odinga led National Super Alliance (NASA).The former MP, who dumped Wiper Party and joined Jubilee Party before losing re-election in the August 8 polls, says that NASA will not survive to 2022.Speaking to journalists in Mwingi Town on Tuesday, Mutambu claimed that Raila will be abandoned first by his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka followed by other principals (Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula). He said that NASA's unity ended when Raila Odinga withdrew from the October 26 repeat presidential election that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta re-elected for a second term."NASA will not hold together until 2022 and the first person to walk out of the Alliance soon will be Kalonzo Musyoka," he said on Tuesday.Mutambu said that Raila will be left alone in his fight for reforms since he no longer appeals to the masses. He said that the former Prime Minister (PM) is surviving on political sympathy he is creating from his push to be sworn in as president. The former Wiper MP while dismissing Raila's planned swearing-in said that the ODM leader will remain irrelevant even if he is sworn in as president." Raila did not win any presidential election, he has no state machinery and his push to be sworn in remains a useless idea" he added.Mutambu asked Raila and other NASA politicians to stop fighting the Jubilee government and instead wait for 2022 if they want to be in politics. Raila has insisted on being sworn in as the people's president even as claims of disunity, disgruntlement and suspicion among the Alliance affiliate party members continue to emerge. The government has warned Raila against his planned swearing in which it says amounts to treason whose punishment is death. The NASA leader says that he is not afraid of death and he would rather die fighting for electoral reforms than watch the country plunge into a dictatorship.
