It is rumoured that the National Super Alliance (Nasa) has recorded a good number of voters during the second and last phase of the mass voter registration, than president Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee strongholds.Recent statistics from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) indicated more than 2,164,185 voters had registered countrywide in the first three weeks of the registration exercise that kicked off January 16 to February 14, 2017.Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto's 'strongholds' Central and Rift Valley regions were the best performing during the stated period.

Since Nasa has four principals, Raila Odinga (ODM), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper party), and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya), it is believed they have more followers and strongholds than Jubilee's 'UhuRuto'.

Adding registered voters in the four Nasa strongholds: Nyanza, Coast, Lower Eastern and Western regions, is likely to give the Alliance more votes than Jubilee.

So far, the four Nasa regions have 835,529 registered voters, compared to Jubilee’s 815,840; with a difference of 19,689 votes.

The two coalitions however maintained optimism that one of them will beat the other in the August 8, polls.
