Loyalty in politics is a virtue despite its antidemocratic traits. If you fight with your master then failure is always at your doorstep and Ms Rachael Nyamai is the latest victim of political betrayal of her mentor.
The Kitui South legislature decamped from Narc to Jubilee despite being the solo Ukambani Narc Member of Parliament. She deserted Charity Ngilu and now she will face the wrath of Kamba’s political mother and Kalonzo Musyoka’s experience if she will be lucky to be granted a direct ticket.
The obstacle between her and the Jubilee ticket is former Kitui South MP Samuel Kalii Kiminza. She has requested for a direct ticket because she has sensed defeated to Uhuru’s friend, Kimanzi. Her competitor has refused to bow out of the race something that puts her bid at risk.
The chairperson of the Health Committee in the National Assembly believes that disobedience towards Ngilu is justified considering the great support Jubilee has accorded her.
“Jubilee supported me in many ways, including ensuring that I remained the committee chairperson. I would be ungrateful if I failed to team up with the colleagues I have worked with since 2013. A majority of my supporters wanted me to join Jubilee,” she told the Nation in an interview.
The legislature likely to face the Muoki’s who will be fronted by Wiper. She will also have to reverse the culture of one term in her constituency and the tendency of re-electing former legislatures. There are also nepotism accusations against Nyamai.
