A group of Mai mahiu youths have come up with a new way of earning a living out of buying piglets and sell them after they are mature.

The youths contribute money to buy piglets and food for them as well.After maturity, the pigs are sold to the big hotels in Nakuru town and Naivasha as well.The group chairman Dennis Maura, Speaking in their monthly meeting in Mai mahiu on Tuesday, said many of them were jobless. "Many of us had to find something to do after walking day and night looking for employment to no avail. That is how we ended up with this initiative," Maura said.He added that their main source of money is through their profits and savings. "The coming together of all of us was a blessing . Today the 32 members of us in this group have a good life. We never thought we could make a living from pigs till we started it," said Maura.
