Every politician who attended the celebrations took advantage of the opportunity to push for their political agendas.

Bouncers who were tasked with providing security all wore black T-shirts with the following words inscripted on them," Patrick Makau, MP, 2017."

The T-shirts also had a picture of Patrick Makau. Hon Patrick Makau, who is the current Mavoko Mp, is seeking for a second term in office.

He has been urging the people of Mavoko to re-elect him come 2017. Athi river MCA Michael Mutua also arrived at the venue with a group of women wearing white T-shirts written," Change is coming to Mavoko, 2017."

The MCA is also eyeing the Mavoko parliamentary seat. He seems to be banking on the support of the women, if the grand entry that was witnessed during the celebrations is anything to go by.

Generally, and most probably because he (Makau) is still in office, his presence and influence seemed to have overshadowed Mutua's.(men wearing Makau T-shirts)
