President Uhuru Kenyatta has eulogized Migori Senator Ben Oluoch Okello as a true patriot who served the country with commitment and devotion.
In his message of condolence to the family and Migori County residents, President Kenyatta said it is unfortunate that the country has lost a great leader of our time.
The President said throughout his career as a journalist before joining politics, the late Senator Okello propagated messages of peace, love and unity and he never shied from standing for what was right for the country.
Mr Okello, a former Ramogi and KBC radio presenter, passed on at a Nairobi hospital after long battle with cancer.
“Indeed, Senator Okello was keen in uniting Kenyans that’s why when he joined politics it was easy for the people to elect him. They had seen his passion and zeal in providing leadership by espousing national values when he was a journalist,” said President Kenyatta.
The President assured the family and the people of Migori of his support at this difficult moment and prayed that God will give them comfort and fortitude to bear the loss.
