Former Webuye member of parliament, Musikari Kombo, once attacked Raila Odinga’s tactics of politics which to him were completely politics of betrayal. According to Mr. Kombo, Raila is one politician who never kept his promises.

Kombo said this in the year 2012 after Raila’s political strategist, Sarah Elderkin wrote an article with his opinion on why Raila and Wamalwa had a frosty relationship after the death of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.

According to Mr. Kombo, Elderkin’s side of the story was full of falsehood and half-truth. In her article, Elderkin had said that it was because Wamalwa acted in defense of Goldenberg scandal victims as well as rigging Raila in Ford Kenya party elections that caused a fallout between them. Something Mr. Kombo strongly dismissed.

“So the genesis of the Wamalwa-Raila break up was not PAC or Goldenberg but was as a result of Wamalwa choosing Orengo who was also Jaramogi’s favorite over Raila,” said Kombo.

He said that Elderkin should have taken him directly, instead of making such outrageous and palatable allegations about one of the great leaders of this nation.

Mr. Kombo alleged that after the death of his father Jaramogi, Raila betrayed Wamalwa who had stood and fought for Jaramogi. Furthermore, he claimed that Raila fought Wamalwa over the leadership of Ford Kenya.

He continued to bring out how Raila have been betraying people in politics and abandoning them.

“Raila’s political career is a boulevard of broken promises, broken dreams and betrayal of those he encountered politically,” said Mr. Kombo.

He left Ford Kenya and formed NDP, took it to Kanu only to walk out leaving Uhuru and Moi’s Kanu much-weakened party, said Mr. Kombo.

Raila then joined Kibaki’s Narc in 2002 only to lead another walk out to from ODM. According to him, Raila’s power-hungry nature is what made him break friendships and governments.
