Raila Odinga has recently proved the meaningfulness of the saying "Old is gold". Old people in the society are very important and they cannot be taken for granted. They are rich of advice through experience - the best teacher.

After taking a step to meet the president, Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila has been visiting the old politicians in the country.

This was very significant to cool down the divisive political temperatures after the highly contested two presidential elections in 2017. After all, Kenya is one big country than any individual elsewhere in it.

To start with, Raila visited the former president and the second President of Kenya, Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. Commitment to express his truce in recovering peace and unity, Raila held a closed-door meeting with the experienced Moi.

The 'Nyayoism' philosophy owner and starter is well known all over the nation for his call for peace, love and unity.

Meeting Moi, provided a better chance for Raila to get advice on putting Kenyans together after a long period of agony in the political atmosphere leading to destruction of property and death.

Notably, the closed-door meeting had only Gideon Moi besides the two - Raila and Moi. This, obviously, would involve talks on the country's politics come 2022; most importantly the political future of Gideon and Raila. Raila is seventy three years old of age and he has got at most one remaining chance to vie for any post.

Additionally, on 20th April 2018, Raila visited the immediate former president, Mwai Kibaki. This signified the same same meaning on the saying.

Evidently, Kibaki is older than Raila and having retired from politics, his advice would be of poignant meaning to him. Furthermore, he keeps visiting not only elderly but also the top county leaders.

Truly, Old is gold.
