Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has downplayed the significance of ODM leader Raila Odinga in his political achievements.
Speaking on a local news channel, the Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) boss said that Odinga is only good at profiling negatively those who differ with him.
He said that for the many years his former party chief was in government, Budalangi got nothing fron his leadership.
“Budalangi is not anybody’s colony. The people of Budalangi will elect me and bury the Raila myths. He couldn’t even offer my constituents a bridge. This is why am supporting Uhuru. He listened to my people and saved them,” Namwamba said.
The legislature who has vowed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta said that ODM is his past and now he is focused on LPK matters. He accused Raila of propagating rumors that anybody who deserts him has been bought. He mentioned Mudavadi’s case when he chose to vie for presidency in 2013. He says the same narrative is being used against him.
Ababu maintained that holding different political opinions in politics is not a crime. He said Raila has differed with retired President Moi, President Kibaki, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi but later worked with them.
