Kenyan politics is one of its kind in Africa. A Kenyan-born politician can always manage to be a politician in whichever part of the world.
They always stand out. Talk of the Kenyan origin Obama, who turned out to be a famous politician in a superpower nation, not for one term but for two good terms.
Respect for Kenyan-born politicians.
Today I look into similarities and differences between Babu Owino, the young politician and Raila Odinga, the highly experienced politician.
Similarities:
Both Hon Raila Odinga and Hon Babu Owino are from Nyanza. They are all Luos.
Both of them took their political career to the capital of Kenya, while we expected them to have started the political journey in Nyanza, Raila Odinga started from Lang'ata constituency where he was serving as a member of parliament.
Babu Owino started the journey in Embakasi East.
Both of the two leaders command huge followers.
Raila Odinga can order his followers to appear in streets and they come regardless of any hard situations, Babu Owino used to do the same while he was the university student leader, and he can do the same even now be sure.
Both of the two politicians are so brave, for instance, Raila Odinga accepted the controversial swearing in ceremony while his co-principals could not. Babu Owino on several occasions has dared the government to arrest him.
Both the leaders have unique political names, Babu and Baba.
Differences:
Raila Odinga will be considering retiring from politics while Babu is fully cementing his roots in politics
While Babu came from a humble background, Raila came from a politicians family.
Babu has been a president at least once, but a university president, Raila has not yet.
While Raila went to court to challenge his rival's victory, Babu's rival went to court to challenge his victory.
