The drama surrounding the return of self-declared National Resistance Movement leader Miguna Miguna escalated fast at the JKIA on Monday night.
The night would get worse and humiliating for NASA leader Raila Odinga, who went to the rescue of Miguna. It was particularly humiliating for Odinga, who helplessly watched as one of his trusted ‘generals’ was bundled into a Dubai flight at around 11 pm.
He did not leave with the plane though after the pilot of the Dubai-destined plane said he could not fly with an unwilling passenger.
“I'm not going! I'm not going! I'm not boarding! I'm not boarding because I don't have a passport! "The captain cannot fly! You cannot take me away from my own country! Kill me... I'm not afraid of your gun! I'm not going to Dubai,” protested Miguna, at around 11 pm.
Trouble started earlier on in the day when Miguna arrived in the country but was denied entry at the immigration department due to issues with his passport.
He was deported to Canada last month, after leading the 'illegal' swearing in of Raila Odinga on January 31, 2018.
However, a case filed against the decision to deport him fell in his favour, and he was allowed to come back to the country.
