NASA leader Raila Odinga was on Monday put to task by his co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi.
Odinga, who pulled a surprise when he joined the principals for a crisis meeting at Stoni Athi Resort in Athi River Many expected Odinga to skip the meeting, with reports indicating it was a crisis meeting between the other three co-principals.
The meeting was called upon by the principals after Odinga made a pact with President Kenyatta in the absence of the other principals.
However, Odinga, who was accompanied by Siaya Senator James Orengo attended the meeting which took roughly over 4 hours.
The leaders had indicated that the agreement between Uhuru and Odinga was the main agenda for the meeting, showing their displeasure to the two’s agreement without being informed.
Mudavadi insisted on Saturday that they have a constitution that guides them, which clearly stipulates how to handle matters using the right channels.
“The MOU is not anchored nor underwritten by any known institutional framework. Neither does it succinctly capture the nagging issues contained in NASA national dialogue agenda for which many have died nor did others maim in the recent past. It is not possible to gloss over issues of electoral justice by simply accepting to move on, on the basis of a gentleman’s agreement,” said Mudavadi in a statement issued on Saturday.
“The NASA Summit will do a thorough audit of the MOU and undertake soul-searching on whether Kenyans were taken for a ride on not by this MOU.”
After the meeting, the leaders promised to deliver the message to their respective parties, before they reach on an agreement.
