Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has warned politicians to be cautious of conmen purporting to be him and using his name to con unsuspecting aspirants their hard earned money.

Speaking at the party headquarters in Nairobi on Friday, Tuju said Jubilee aspirants should be aware that there are some people who are out to make money using his name.

“There are some conmen who are using my name to con people money cheating them to pay a certain amount in order to receive Jubilee Party certificates. They have registered phone numbers using my name which they are using to con unsuspecting aspirants," said Tuju.

The former Rarieda MP said he has reported the issue to the phone service providers and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, adding the officers are pursuing the suspects.

He told all candidates who won in Jubilee last month’s primaries that nomination certificates will be issued at the county offices.

Tuju also assured winners that they will not be cheated out of their certificates, as it unveiled, what he said, are fool-proof security features of the crucial documents.

“We want to assure our aspirants that only two certificates have been issued – That of the President and his running mate. All the others will be given theirs during the day and in full openness,” Tuju assured.
