Crime busters have swung into action to unravel a mind-blowing bank heist staged in Thika.
In what many would see as a movie-style theft, daring robbers dug a tunnel and accessed KCB bank Thika branch.
Police said they have arrested three suspects who are helping in investigations.
Preliminary investigations pointed to a group of no-nonsense guys who spent six months digging a tunnel like moles.
Police said the gang rented three stalls which are close to the bank and started digging the tunnel as they stocked the soil in one stall.
The innocent-looking 'traders' went on with their business without anyone realizing their motive.
By Sunday, the robbers ruptured into the bank and accessed the vault cash boxes.
They drilled the boxes using Oxy-Acytelene flame and poof, they made away with a cool Sh50 million.
