The Kiambu based political pundit argues that President Kenyatta has to firmly and decisively deal with corruption if he wants to leave a good legacy.

In an interview on Monday, Ngure claimed that there are forces keen on tarnishing Uhuru’s legacy through corruption.

He said that the President has to be smart and take stern action against individuals and companies named in graft scandals.

The analyst said that looters could be targeting Uhuru’s Big Four agenda to finish him and completely ruin his presidential term.

“I think the President has to act now by sending a strong message to corruption cartels who want to ‘kill’ his Big Four agenda,” he said.

The analyst said that corruption remains President Kenyatta’s biggest headache, adding that the Head of State can easily win back the public trust if he jails individuals behind the looting of public resources.

Mr Ngure at the same time claimed that the massive graft cases being witnessed in the country are linked to the 2022 succession politics.

He said that some people are likely to capitalize on the cases to campaign and sale their 2022 agenda.

President Kenyatta is under pressure to take action against state officials behind the fresh Sh8 billion NYS scam.

Several top government officials among them Public Service Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo and NYS Director General Richard Ndubai and others are expected in court on Tuesday to answer to charges relating to the scandal.

This comes as investigations have been launched into the alleged loss of taxpayers' money at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and the Youth Development Fund.

Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has vowed to deal firmly with graft.
