Monetizing my writing talent has always been my dream and every step I made never realized the dream until I came across Hivisasa. My journey to become one of the top writers has not been a bed of roses starting from getting my articles published to attracting readers.

I never knew when my first article was published because on that day, I had written two articles and promised myself that if they would be returned, I would quit writing. The first article was returned and instead of taking that as a challenge, I stopped writing without minding the other article.

I did not write for a month until the day I was down financially and all I could do is to check every account I had that could earn me money.I checked my Mpesa, Equity and Sportpesa accounts but sadly, there was nothing there. I then decided to check my Hivisasa account and boom! I had 100 shillings in my account. If you are a university student, you understand how much a hundred shillings is when you are down.

That motivated me but it was not motivating enough and I thought of being an editor. I wanted to be the one returning articles, not the victim. Hilariously, I wanted to be an editor with only one published article, so I decided to write more.

Giving editors no reason to return my articles by avoiding minor mistakes, I got my articles published.

My challenge was now to attract more readers, I shared my articles on Whatsapp groups and even got removed from some.I have also been temporarily blocked from sharing any post on Facebook groups but I was clever for that. All I did was to create a new account and join new groups.

Currently, I write 15 stories in a week, and that fetches me a cool Sh2000 enough to survive in campus.

Lastly, editors, especially the national editor, have been my mentors through this journey and they can shape you to be the best if you are ready to learn.
