Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s woes have further compounded after it emerged that he has now shifted camp from Nairobi to his home in Machakos County.
Sonko is said to have shifted cabinet meetings to his home in Mua Hills, Machakos county, saying he is living in fear from unknown people.
The government, in a move aimed at reducing the number of bodyguards assigned to VIPs, cut the number of guards around him from 15 to four.
His first official was done on Monday when he held a meeting at his Mua home, where all the nine CeC’s attended.
There are more planned meetings, with another one said to have taken place on Tuesday at the same venue.
Sonko has in the recent past claimed that his life is in danger and that there is a top government official who was after his life.
He has further said the move to cut down on the number of his bodyguards was a plan well hatched by some people.
His troubles rose to another level last week, after he nominated Miguna Miguna to fill the vacant position of the deputy governor, a move that did not go down well with many of his Jubilee colleagues.
