[Photo/Courtesy]Chaos erupted during an Annual Delegates Conference (ADC) of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) at Wild Waters, in Mombasa. This is after delegates disagreed over a letter from Labour Ministry, advising Knut Secretary General Wilson Sossion, to relinquish his unionist seat after being nominated as an MP.In a Gazette Notice by Labour Cabinet Secretary Phyllis Kandie, Sossion was among 11 trade unionists that were advised to resign their positions in respective trade unions.Others include Stanley Kiptis, Catherine Wambilianga, Mulei Mwalowa, Florence Bore and Richard Cheserem.During the ADC on Thursday morning, Sossion who is also an ODM MP maintained he would not resign. The move saw delegates differ and started exchanging blows each one of them taking sides.Sossion faulted Kandie saying the Gazette notice is because of his criticism towards the Jubilee administration. He said government wants him to resign since he has been putting it on toes to address teachers and Labour laws.Police moved in to restore calm.
