In past two weeks social media has been playing a very critical role in shaping Nakuru politics as we head towards the 2017 general elections.
In what was seen as an unexpected move, social media pushed Engineer Victor Ngatia to declare his intentions to run for the Nakuru Governor in next year’s polls.
Ngatia who had earlier been expected to run for the Nakuru Town West parliamentary seat was forced to take a u-turn after thousands of his youthful supporters took to social media platforms to convince him to vie for the top seat in the county.
Through the Nakuru Analysts page, what started as a simple suggestion ended up being a big announcement from Ngatia that he would be battling it out with the incumbent Kinuthia Mbugua.
Through the same social media platform the young men and women have also pledged to fundraise money to support and fund Ngatia’s campaigns for the 2017 polls.
