@wwf_uk "Sudan, the last male northern white rhino, has died. Our hearts are broken. We’re seeing the extinction of the northern white rhino happen before our eyes - urgent action to tackle the illegal wildlife trade is needed now more than ever."
@HelpingRhinos observed; "Sudan was a gentle giant, an amazing personality and we pay tribute to all his keepers, carers, vets and guards at @OlPejeta who today, are all mourning his passing. We share their grief and sadness."
"We know this is shocking. We wish you didn’t have to see it. But this is REALITY for wild rhinos. Human greed is driving these animals to extinction. And for what? This international travesty must END," @chesterzoo noted.
@wildlifedirect asked users: "Sudan is gone but we can still do something to make sure that no other species goes extinct on our watch. How we can we honor and remember the last male northern white rhino?"
@1briankimani conveyed: "I met Sudan back in 2016 at Ol pejeta, the last surviving Northern Male white rhino in the world. A docile creature, who couldn't live freely & needed 24hrs protection and care, because of poaching. Earth was created for all life, not just human life!"
@SupahHukah remarked: "So saddened by the death of the last male Northern White Rhino ''Sudan''.The world must stand in unison in the fight to protect our precious wild Rhinos."
